Issue when importing EIAClient: "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'eia.data'"

When I download the notebook in the description and try to install it after installing python-eia, I run into the following issue when running:

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'eia.data'

I can't find anyone else having this issue. Do I need to install an older version for this to work?

Ran into the same thing and dug around a bit. The cause is in .gitignore: the unanchored data rule also matches src/eia/data/, so routes.yaml/recipes.yaml never get committed and don't end up in the published wheel — hence the No module named 'eia.data' at import. Opened #3 with a one-line .gitignore fix (anchor it to /data). The maintainers will still need to commit the actual YAML files since they were never tracked, but this unblocks that.
