AGONIA-CARD GAME

(Work in progress...)

This card game is called "Agonia". Ιt is played by 2 or 4 players with the entire deck of 52 cards. In each new round, the deck is shuffled, 7 cards are dealt to each player (hand) and a suit is placed on the table. The aim of the game for each player is to get as few points as possible in each round. The round ends when a player has no more cards in his hand.

RULES

Each player has the ability to play a card that has the same number or the same figure as the card on top of the table. If he does not have a matching card, then he must draw a card from the deck. If he still does not find a suitable card, then he passes. Each player has the right to draw a card from the deck or to pass even if he has a card available to play. The round ends when a player has no more cards in their hand (and each player's points are counted based on the suits they have in their hand) and the game ends when a player exceeds a limit set at the beginning (e.g. 100 points in total from all rounds). The winner is the one with the fewest points. If at the end of the game, players are tied for first place, then another round is played until there is a clear result.

SPECIAL CARDS

  1. ACES: Each player has the ability to roll an ace regardless of the suit that is on the table. Then, the player can choose any suit he/she wants and and declare the figure of his/her choice. As a result, the next player is obliged to play with the suit that haw been declared, but it is not possible to roll another Ace
  2. SEVENS: If a player rolls a 7, then the next player draws two cards from the deck, unless he also has a 7. In this case, the next player will draw 4 cards from the deck and so on until a player is found who does not have a 7. If among the cards he/she will draw, he/she finds a 7, he can play it, but it is considered as if it were the first 7
  3. EIGHTS: If a player rolls an 8, he plays again. If he does not have a suitable card, he must draw from the deck and if he does not find a suitable card, he must be passed. A player can play as many "8s" as he/she has available in a row
  4. NINES: If a player rolls a 9, then the next player loses his turn. In the case of 2 players, the same player plays a second time

-Important note: The player cannot win the round with any of the special cards, so if his last card is one of them, he must draw a new card from the deck.

POINTS

-Each card (from 2 to 10) has as many points as its number

-The jack, the queen and the king (J,Q,K) have 10 points each

-The aces (A) have 11 points

For each card we need to know its value, its suit (figure), and its points. In the game the score (points) of the players is maintained. Finally, when the game is completed, the points of all players are counted.

Enjoy the game and have fun!
