DDL pop up window when hovering on table name or view name

I think it would be very productive feature for developers as well as for support. Currently there is no scope to see the exact Snowflake DDL.

Please add a feature to pop up the DDL window when hovering the mouse on any kind of database object.

Thanks for the suggestion. Want to clarify which hover you mean since the answer is different depending on where you're hovering.

In the SQL editor (hovering a table or view name in a query): there's already a hover popup that shows columns with types, primary keys, nullability, defaults, identity, computed expressions, comments, plus row count and storage size. View columns and routine parameters work the same way. There's also Open and Alter links in the hover header. If that's what you want, it should already be working, let me know if it isn't on Snowflake for you.

In the connections tree (hovering a table/view item in the side panel explorer): there is a tooltip for columns, but yes nothing for a table at the moment..

Adding the raw CREATE statement on top of either is doable but has some downsides worth flagging: DDL fetches are an extra round trip to the server (Snowflake GET_DDL, Oracle DBMS_METADATA, etc.) so it adds a hover delay, and the output can be very long for wide tables which clutters the popup.

Couple of questions to help me figure out what to add:

1. Is it the editor hover or the tree hover you want this on?
2. What's missing from the current editor hover that you need from the raw DDL? Constraints, indexes, table options, clustering keys, something else? I am thinking it might be doable to take the detail from the editor hover, and work it into the tree.

So hovering in the editor already hows a breakdown of the table.. not the full DDL (which is not always available in some DB's) but it shows columns and other details..

What is missing that would be in the DDL that you would want to see ? For db's that I can get the DDL out of I can put a link in the top to script it.

This has now been added as a link next to alter in 1.32.4 which has been released
