engine9000 support in Makefile

[sasja-san]

After a lot of messing about I figured out how to set this up. But I suck at makefiles, so if you have any ideas on how to rewrite this more proper, I would love that.

Here's my list of steps that I made to set up engine9000. Some of these from the project Readme. I did this on Kubuntu 26.04. This assumes you have ~/.local/bin/ set in your path.

git clone https://github.com/alpine9000/engine9000-public
sudo apt install -y libsdl2-dev libsdl2-image-dev libsdl2-ttf-dev libreadline-dev pkg-config zenity
cd engine9000-public
make mega9000-support
make
cd ..
mv engine9000-public ~/.local/share
ln -s ~/.local/share/engine9000-public/e9k-debugger/e9k-debugger ~/.local/bin/e9k-debugger
cp /usr/share/ngdevkit/aes.zip ~/.local/share/engine9000-public/e9k-debugger/system

Figuring out that last BIOS step took me some time 🙃

My project is more or less examples/03-sprite-animation/ which I built on top of. In its file emu.mk I added this. And this for this there is probably a nicer way to do things...

E9K_DEBUGGER?=e9k-debugger
E9K_DIR=/home/sasja/.local/share/engine9000-public
E9K_SYS=aes
E9K_SAVES=./saves
ELF_FILE=./build/rom.elf

e9k:
	$(E9K_DEBUGGER) \
		--neogeo \
		--rom-folder $(ROM) \
		--$(E9K_SYS) \
		--system-dir $(E9K_DIR)/e9k-debugger/system \
		--save-dir $(E9K_SAVES) \
		--elf $(ELF_FILE) \
		--source-dir ./

This gives me make e9k the same way I have make gngeo and make mame.
