@rfay, I don't understand how to push a new image here.

Do I need to update both VERSION and drupal-contrib/VERSION and push a new image?
Or only VERSION and push it?

Just make will show you the option to push an image. You don't need to update the VERSION IMO.

Consider docker pull on both systems after push, but it's not likely important unless I misunderstand.
