Your DSH agents keep running on your computer. DSH Mobile puts their chats on your Android phone, and with version 0.8 the phone does more than follow along: you can send the agent a photo or a file, answer its question, or steer it while it works, without stopping the turn.

What it is

DSH Mobile is a native Android app (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Material 3) for your own DSH. A companion plugin runs inside DSH on your computer; the phone pairs with it by QR code and connects over home Wi‑Fi or Tailscale. There is no cloud and no account. Agents, subscriptions and provider keys stay on the computer.

The app shows the chats of all your DSH projects with live agent replies. You can send messages, start new chats and stop a turn. The interface is in English and Russian.

What you can do from the phone in 0.8

• Steer the agent mid-turn. A message you send while the agent works goes to the queue by default and is delivered on the next turn. Steer delivers it at the agent's next step, without stopping the current turn: long-press Send, or tap ↳ on a queued message. You can also remove a message from the queue.
• Send photos and files. Take a photo with the camera, pick photos with the system Photo Picker or files with the system file picker. Upload starts as soon as you pick. Up to 20 attachments and 200 MiB per message, up to 20 MiB per file. PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF images reach the agent as images; files go into DSH's own attachment store when you send. Unsent uploads expire on the computer after 10 minutes and never reach DSH.
• See images in the chat. Images in messages are shown inline. Tap one for a full-screen viewer with zoom, share and save. Files from messages can be downloaded, up to 20 MiB.
• Answer the agent's questions. When an agent calls ask_user_question, pick one or several options, write your own answer, or skip. The option the agent recommends is marked but not preselected. A question notification opens the question directly.
• Rename a chat and change its model from the ⋯ menu. A new model applies from the next model request, possibly the next step of the running turn; the request already running is not switched.
• Get better notifications. Every new event plays a sound, several alerts are grouped, and the persistent "connected" notification is silent. An "Answer ready" notification has the project and chat name but no reply text. A question notification shows the agent's first question on an unlocked phone and only the chat name on the lock screen. The "Some events may have been missed" warning now clears by itself once the host confirms a full clean recovery pass.
• Open long chats. Long, compacted active chats whose old history could not be resolved within limits used to open empty. Now they show the recent messages with a "history cut" notice.
• Load lists and chats faster. The plugin gzips JSON responses of 1 KiB and larger and keeps connections alive for 60 s.

Built to be careful with your agents

• Every command has a request ID and a durable receipt on the computer. A repeat returns the same receipt, and uncertain delivery is shown to you, not retried blindly.
• The QR invitation is one-use and valid for up to 15 minutes. The phone pins the computer's certificate, and each phone has its own revocable permissions: read-only, or also running tasks.
• The DSH Web UI is not exposed to the network. The plugin gives paired phones only a limited HTTPS API.
• Agent action approvals stay on the computer, because DSH does not expose them to plugins.

Get it

You need Android 8.0 or newer, and on the computer Windows, DSH 0.2.0-rc.2 or 0.2.1-alpha.1, Node.js 24.x and OpenSSL 3. Download dsh-mobile-0.8.0.apk and dsh-mobile-host-0.7.0.zip from the release and check their SHA-256. You can give the setup guide to your DSH agent: it checks versions, installs the plugin and asks for your approval before each important step.

Already on 0.7.1? Install the APK over it: it is signed with the same key, and chats, settings and pairing are kept. Update the plugin with install-host.ps1 -Upgrade -Activate from the new zip: it swaps the plugin block in your DSH profile and DSH hot-reloads it, so agents keep running and the phone briefly disconnects. If the new plugin's listener does not come up, for example because hot reload is not enabled in your DSH, restart DSH while your agents are idle, because a restart ends running turns. The app shows each new feature only if the connected plugin reports it, so it keeps working with plugin 0.6.0 until you update.

How it was checked

• Android: 280 unit tests, lint with 0 errors, 45/45 instrumented tests on an Android 11 emulator and 45/45 on an Android 16 emulator.
• Host plugin: 241 tests, 237 pass; 4 optional integration tests are skipped, as they run only when pointed at an installed DSH module and OpenSSL. A canary test against an isolated installed DSH passes.
• The release APK's signature and alignment were verified. On my OnePlus 15 (Android 16), 0.8.0 installed over 0.7.1 and kept chats and pairing.
• Host plugin 0.7.0 has been running in my live DSH since October 20, 2026. After the restart that activated it, the plugin reported all the new features: steer, queue, rename, models, questions, question skip, attachments, file download and notifications.

I use 0.8.0 on my own phone with my live DSH, and it works great.

Limits

• No push via Google (FCM). Background notifications need the optional foreground connection with a visible persistent notification, and Android may still stop it.
• Approvals stay on the computer.
• One computer per app. Full offline history is not available.
• Project filtering is not a sandbox: an agent started from the phone can do what it can do from the desktop, so allow running tasks only from your own devices.

Update: DSH Mobile 0.8.2 is out, with host plugin 0.7.2: release v0.8.2. It fixes three problems I hit myself:

• Notifications arrived late or at random. With thousands of DSH sessions (3032 on my machine), the host plugin requested the full session list for every event and drained events one by one, so notifications lagged by about an hour. Plugin 0.7.2 looks up only the session it needs.
• Tapping a notification could open a different chat. Each notification now opens its own chat.
• A "send not confirmed" warning hung after sending from the phone. A normal send now shows a neutral sending status, and the plugin no longer requests the full session list three times before every phone prompt, which added about 15 s before the agent started.

0.8.1 was never published, so 0.8.2 also includes its fixes for photos, attachments and the chat list. Update the app and the plugin together: the notification and prompt fixes need plugin 0.7.2. With plugin 0.7.2, notifications seem to arrive and a tap opens the right chat in my everyday use; I haven't measured the delay. The automatic resend after an actual network switch is not yet tested on a real phone.
