This workaround has worked for me. Forces it back to an earlier version for now.

EDIT: it only worked once. Later attempts fail the same way as before.

I gave repo to Qwen3.8-27b inside pi harness, it identified this problem in tsconfig.base.json:

The new adaptive directory-picker feature (rc.1/rc.2) added two client packages, but their paths entries were never added to tsconfig.base.json. The generic @deepseek-ai/dsh-* wildcard can't map them — it would look for packages/client/client-ui-directory-picker-browse/src (the client- prefix belongs to the group, not the dir name). In dev mode the plugin loader dynamically imports the client surface package by bare name from vendor/loader, which has no node_modules link to it, so tsx's tsconfig paths is the only resolution path. It's the same bug class as the earlier host-side fix (58513ee126 "fix(config): map directory picker auto to source").

I added the 4 missing lines to tsconfig.base.json (verified: all packages/client/* and packages/host/* packages now have entries):

Additional issue for Alpine:

Alpine/musl can't load the HMR native addon (environment — needs a flag)

After fix #1, a second error appeared: --expose-internals is required for HMR service. The HMR plugin needs Node's internal ESM loader, obtained either via the node-addon-require-builtin native addon or the --expose-internals flag. This box is Alpine Linux (musl) — and that addon only ships glibc builds (it fails with No usable native binding found for node-addon-require-builtin-linux-x64-musl). Also, --expose-internals is not allowed in NODE_OPTIONS, so the flag must go on the node command line.
How to run it here

Replace the last line of your script with:

node --expose-internals --import tsx/esm apps/cli/src/bin.ts web

(exactly what pnpm dsh web executes, plus the flag). I verified end-to-end: server boots and serves the UI — HTTP 200 at http://127.0.0.1:3080.

curl is reading port 3080 successfully from inside of the container, inaccessible from outside
