Uh oh!

Environment
OS: Windows (zh-CN), PowerShell 7.6.6
Node: v24.15.0
pnpm: via corepack
dsh: v0.1.6-alpha.2 (commit ddefc45) → broken; v0.1.6-alpha.1 → works
Profile: shipped web template (@deepseek-ai/dsh-base + @deepseek-ai/dsh-web-app); cordis.patch.yml = []; no $DSH_HOME/cordis.patch.yml
Native deps verified loadable from the checkout: koffi@3.1.1 (OK), node-pty@1.2.0-beta.15 patched (OK); pwsh 7.6.6 resolves and executes
Summary
On v0.1.6-alpha.2 (Windows), any tool call fails immediately with
Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'prepare') (error code UNKNOWN).
After the failure the session becomes unusable: every subsequent message returns
DeepSeek Messages tool calls need immediate results (INVALID_REQUEST), because the
assistant message keeps a tool call with no result in the history.
Reproducible 100%. Affects at least two unrelated tools — the Pwsh shell tool and the
Glob file-search tool — which points at a shared tool execution / preparation layer
rather than the shell stack.
Steps to reproduce
pnpm dsh web --no-open
Open the Web UI and create a new session (shipped web profile, no custom patch)
Ask the agent to do anything that requires a tool, e.g. "list the current directory" (Pwsh)
or "find all *.ts files" (Glob)
The run fails: 本轮运行失败 Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'prepare') — UNKNOWN
Send any further message (even "hello") → DeepSeek Messages tool calls need immediate results — INVALID_REQUEST
Expected
The tool executes normally (as it does on v0.1.6-alpha.1).
Actual
Tool preparation throws TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'prepare');
the run aborts; the session retains a dangling tool call, and every later turn fails with INVALID_REQUEST.
Ruled out
Native modules: koffi and node-pty are both installed and load successfully
(require('koffi') → OK, require('node-pty') → OK)
pwsh: PowerShell 7.6.6 installed and executable from the shell
Port conflicts: netstat shows :3080 free; the server starts and serves the UI
Profile composition: stock template, empty user patch layer, no home-level patch
No stack trace on stdout/stderr — the error is only surfaced as a structured UNKNOWN error in the UI
Regression window
dsh-v0.1.6-alpha.1 (2026-09-15): works
dsh-v0.1.6-alpha.2 (2026-09-17, commit ddefc45): fails
Notes
tool-pwsh is disabled and tool-pwsh-persistent is the mounted shell tool, but since the
non-shell Glob tool crashes identically, the failure appears to be in the shared tool
execution path rather than in the persistent-pwsh stack.
中文摘要
在 Windows 上使用 v0.1.6-alpha.2 时,任何工具调用都会立即失败:
Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'prepare')(错误码 UNKNOWN)。
失败后该会话不可用——之后每条消息都返回
DeepSeek Messages tool calls need immediate results(INVALID_REQUEST),
回归区间:dsh-v0.1.6-alpha.1 正常 → dsh-v0.1.6-alpha.2 崩溃
回退到 dsh-v0.1.6-alpha.1 后一切恢复正常
