Introduction

When I leave DSH working and switch to another app, I sometimes come back to find it has been waiting for my approval or an answer. DSH Attention Notifier is a small plugin so I notice that without reopening the window: distinct attention sounds, background notifications, and — with an optional Windows patch — real taskbar reminders.

Highlights

• 🔊 Two distinct tones — an urgent triple tone when a session needs your approval or answer, a gentler double tone when the task finishes (replaceable with any audio you like)
• 🔔 Background notifications — a notification when the window is in the background; clicking it focuses the window
• 🔢 Windows taskbar digit (optional patch) — a white-digit badge showing how many sessions are waiting for you; a completed task also leaves a digit that stays until you return to the window
• 🚨 Taskbar blink — the icon flashes while something waits and the window is minimized or behind other apps
• 🧠 State-aware, not spammy — reminders fire on state changes only; repeated events are deduped, completion bursts are aggregated, approval requests never are; nothing replays when the app starts

How it integrates with DSH

A standard DSH bundle plugin (@ahian-lee/dsh-attention-notifier). The host half folds turn/start, turn/end, approval/asked and approval/decided session events into an attention projection; the client half watches it and drives the sounds and notifications. No host files are touched.

The taskbar features come from an optional local patch (overlay/) because the plugin API cannot reach setOverlayIcon, taskbar flashing, or reliable native notifications today. The patch is fully reversible (the original app.asar is never modified; restore first before any DSH update). Everything here started as an idea for built-in desktop behavior — if DSH ever exposes these desktop notification capabilities to plugins, the patch layer happily retires.

Known limits

• Without the patch, background notifications depend on the environment (renderer-side notifications can silently no-op on some Electron/Windows setups; sounds are unaffected).
• Browser audio autoplay rules mean one click inside the DSH window is needed before background sounds can play.
• The patch keys on the current desktop packaging; the repo states exactly what it changes and how to undo it.

任务栏能力来自 overlay/ 的可选本地补丁（当前插件 API 无法调用 setOverlayIcon、任务栏闪烁与可靠的原生通知）。补丁完全可逆：原始 app.asar 一字节不改；更新 DSH 前请先还原。这个插件最初是奔着「桌面版内置这类提醒」去的——如果官方将来向插件开放这些桌面通知能力，补丁层随时退役。

已知限制
