We are thrilled to have you here. WA MCP is the first WhatsApp integration built natively for AI Agents using the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Instead of writing REST wrappers, parsing webhook payloads, and mapping endpoints to tools manually — your agent just connects and goes. One server, 61 tools, 10 resources, 12 real-time events.

Why WA MCP exists

We are entering the agentic era — AI agents that can reason, plan, and take action autonomously. These agents need to interact with the real world, and messaging is one of the most fundamental channels for that.

WhatsApp has 2+ billion users worldwide, yet there has been no clean, agent-native way to integrate with it. WA MCP changes that by speaking MCP natively — the open standard that AI frameworks like Claude, Google ADK, LangChain, and others already support.

Getting Started

The fastest way to try WA MCP:

docker compose up

Then point your agent to http://localhost:3000/mcp and it will auto-discover all 61 WhatsApp tools.

Roadmap

We have accomplished a lot already (Phases 1-3 complete), and here is what is coming next:

• Phase 4 — Cloud API adapter: dual-channel unified interface (Baileys + Meta official API)
• Phase 5 — Hardening: error recovery, CI/CD, comprehensive tests, documentation, and v1.0 release
