🚀 Announcing YTDLnis Desktop: A powerful cross-platform port using Compose Multiplatform

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm a big fan of the original YTDLnis Android app. Since I felt the need for a similar, powerful, and Material-designed experience on my PC, I've spent some time porting the core logic and UI to the desktop using Kotlin and Compose Multiplatform.

I’m excited to share the first working version with this community!

💻 Features at a glance:
Core Parity: Replicated the look and feel of the Android app using Material 3.
Queue Management: Full workforce management for audio/video downloads.
Advanced Control: Command templates and raw terminal modes are supported.
yt-dlp Powered: Just like the original, it uses the latest yt-dlp engine.
Native Experience: Runs natively on Windows, Linux, and macOS.

This is an open-source port and there is still work to be done to achieve 100% feature parity (especially in syncing all settings and database persistence optimizations).

This project was created with the intention of keeping a desktop port aligned as closely as possible with the main YTDLnis repository while exploring how its core ideas translate to a desktop environment. The goal is not to diverge, but to remain compatible, up-to-date, and useful to the broader ecosystem.
I’m openly welcoming contributions from anyone interested in helping improve the project, whether through code, reviews, or architectural suggestions. In particular, any guidance or contribution from you would be highly valuable, given your deep understanding of the original project.
The aim is collaborative improvement and long-term maintainability, not duplication for its own sake.

Currently the app isnt structured the best
But id say the database folder and the utils folder can be copied off more or less the same.
What changes is the ui of course.

Also the hardest part of running ytdlp on pc is easy for you so u have plenty of time to focus on ui 😁👍
