Night Slashers v1.1 — Sound update

  • Rebalanced audio mix — music (YM2151) down, voice (OKI1 speech) up, SFX (OKI2) adjusted, after diffing each channel against MAME. Fixes the imbalanced-music / missing-voice reports.
  • EEPROM ships blank — each region set self-configures its own defaults on first boot (a single preloaded region image had been forcing Over Sea settings onto every set).
  • Over Sea MRA CRCs corrected (were the Japan set's).

Gore is off by default on every version (as on the original PCB) — enable it in the service menu. See the README → Enabling gore.

One rbf (jtnslasher_20260704.rbf) serves all three MRAs. Install per the README.

First release — first FPGA implementation of Data East deco32 (encrypted ARM6, dual sprite chips, Ace alpha blender).

Fully playable and hardware-verified: sprites, shadows, stage-2 mist/fog, transparent carriage, character bio / story-art portraits, sound, service menu.

Install: rbf → _Arcade/cores/, mra(s) → _Arcade/, MAME 0.284 romsets (nslasher/nslasherj/nslashers) → games/mame/. The Japan set has the gore hardwired.

Built on JTFRAME by jotego (GPLv3). Source tree publishes here after the follow-on Data East cores; available on request meanwhile.
