Open cloned repo

The feature request

When I clone a repo from URL or any other method, I'd like Github Desktop to swith to that repo's summary page as soon as it is cloned.

Proposed solution

As said above - when the cloning is finished, navigate to the repo in the app. Plain and simple, saves some little time (or maybe more if there's a big list of cloned repos).

Hey @aciudacov, thanks for reaching out. Just so that I understand here, what you're looking for is after you've started cloning a repository and then change to another repository you'd like GitHub Desktop to bring you back to the freshly cloned repository once that operation completes?

Hi @niik. I don't entirely understand what stands for "and then change to another repository". Here's an example: I'm currently on the summary page of repo A and then I clone another repo using the sidebar on the left (add button => URL). The repo B is being cloned and as the operation is finished I'm still on the repo A summary page.

That doesn't match the behavior I'm seeing or am expecting.

Please check my attachment here. Also please note that this behavior does not depend on the local changes. App version is 3.2.0 x64. Windows 11 Enterprise 22H2 with latest updates.

Hey @aciudacov thanks so much for the recording! That's not the behavior we expect at all and I've not seen that before. I'll mark this as a bug but unfortunately I haven't been able to reproduce it myself yet. Do you have another machine that you could try installing Desktop on to make sure that it's not isolated to one particular environment?

I was unable to reproduce this as well when testing on both macOS and Windows.

Hi and sorry for the long wait. Yes, I was able to test it on a different machine (Win 10 Enterprise VPS) and it has the same behaviour but with one slight difference - as soon as the repo was cloned, I clicked on the "Current repository" button and it brought me to the newly cloned repo without me actually selecting it from the list.
