Omega Deck

A portable writerDeck built around a split mechanical keyboard.

The Omega Deck is designed for focused writing, with features that matter most to me:

  • Portability: easy to carry anywhere.
  • Long battery life: no need to worry about charging.
  • Instant boot: ready to write at a moment’s notice.
  • Single purpose: distraction-free by design.
  • Automatic sync: seamless backup of every draft.
  • Split mechanical keyboard: ergonomic and comfortable for long sessions.

Model A

It's inspired by the Micro Journal Rev.4, the Robinson Writerdeck, and the Freewrite Alpha.

Design Highlights

  • 60-key ortholinear split layout, similar to the Nyquist by Keebio, the SP50 by KPrepublic, or the Sunder E60 HE
  • Hot-swappable, Cherry MX-style switches
  • Integrated wrist rest
  • LCD or e-ink screen embedded between the two keyboard halves, flush with the top surface
  • Powered by rechargeable batteries
  • Runs Vim on a minimal Linux install
