Installation

1. Download BG Remover.dmg below
2. Double-click to mount the disk image
3. Drag "BG Remover" to Applications folder
4. For first launch: Right-click the app → "Open" (to bypass security warning)

BG Remover - Installation Guide for macOS

⚠️ About the Security Warning

BG Remover is currently unsigned due to Apple notarization delays. This means macOS will show a security warning when you first launch it. This is normal and safe - you can trust it.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Download

• Go to GitHub Releases
• Download the latest BG Remover.dmg file

Step 2: Mount the DMG

• Double-click BG Remover.dmg to open it
• An installer window will appear

Step 3: Install the App

• Drag "BG Remover" to the "Applications" folder
• Wait for the copy process to complete

Step 4: Launch the App (with Trust)

First launch will show a security warning. Follow these steps:

1. Open Finder → Go to Applications
2. Find "BG Remover" in the Applications folder
3. Right-click on "BG Remover" → Select "Open"
4. Click "Open" in the security dialog
5. The app will now launch and remember your choice
6. Future launches will work normally without the warning

Why This Happens

• macOS requires apps to be "notarized" by Apple (a security check)
• Our app is pending notarization but Apple's backend configuration is slow
• This is temporary and the app is completely safe
• The warning is just macOS being cautious about downloaded apps

Technical Details

✅ App is code-signed with a valid Developer ID certificate
✅ Credentials are verified by Apple's systems
✅ Only waiting for Apple's backend notarization activation

Troubleshooting

"App is damaged" message?

• Run this in Terminal:

  xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/BG\ Remover.app

Still getting blocked?

• Go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy
• Click "Open Anyway" next to the BG Remover warning

Note: Once Apple enables notarization for our team, future versions will install without any warnings.
