For large collections like M$PC Landsat-8, the default of unlimited item search is overwhelming - the whole map turns orange from many layers of bounding boxes. I like the choice not to paginate or otherwise limit the initial item search, but it basically forces me to limit my time period, rather than just showing the most recent 20 scenes or something by default, which is what STAC Browser or Planetary Computer Data Catalog do.
