The predefined build bundles 118 wallpapers (106 images + 12 looping 4K video wallpapers) so it works the moment you install it. The portable build writes nothing to Program Files and sets no registry keys — which also means it won't register itself as your Windows screensaver.

If your browser deletes the download

That's SmartScreen reputation filtering, not a virus detection. Unsigned installers from a new publisher get discarded automatically until they build download history. Both installers scan clean under Microsoft Defender.

Your options:

  • Use the portable ZIP — archives are rarely blocked
  • Choose Keep in your browser's download list, then More info → Run anyway at the SmartScreen prompt
  • Verify the SHA-256 below before running anything

Install

  1. Download one of the files below
  2. Run it (or extract, for the portable build)
  3. AuraBoard appears in your system tray. Right-click it for Settings and the Layout Editor

Requirements: Windows 10 / 11 (x64). Nothing else to install.

What's in it

14 widgets — Clock, Date, Greeting, Weather, Moon, Sun, Calendar, Countdown, System, Spotify, News, Crypto, Stocks, Sports. Each ships in three visual variants.

Photo and video slideshow — point it at any folder. JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, plus MP4, WebM and MOV. Videos loop and are always muted.

Free-form layout editor — drag, resize from any edge, and overlap widgets on a 12×12 grid. Layouts persist across restarts.

4 themes — Signal, Newsprint, Cyan, Amber, with an optional time-of-day palette that drifts from dawn to night.

Spotify — now-playing, transport controls, and an optional album-art background.

Multi-monitor — run on every display or choose specific ones.

Notes

  • The two installers update on separate channels, so a predefined release never lands on someone who chose the standard build, and vice versa.
  • Wallpapers bundled in the predefined build are collected from around the web and remain the property of their respective creators. If you own something included here and want it removed, open an issue.
  • API keys for News, Stocks and Crypto are optional, and stored encrypted through the Windows credential store.
