This project is a replication of an article entitled "Laws In Conflict: Legacies of War, Gender, and Legal Pluralism in Chechnya" by Egor Lazarev. Lazarev examines post-war Chechnya and how legacies of war affect people's choice between various legal processes, mainly through the prism of gender in a heavily traditional (and retraditionalizing) society. My project works to replicate, expand on and critique Lazarev's work.
