Storage with the barmaid question.

I was very excited to see the newish option to store items and gold with the the barmaid until I realized that all the different characters have access to the stash! Is there any way around that? I hate leaving piles of stuff on the ground in
the village but giving my level one character a million gold feels like cheating.

Rename the stash.sv between each session.

Or use different pages

The pages would be fine, but unfortunately that doesn’t do anything for the gold. My wife and I play simultaneous campaigns so I guess this isn’t going to be very helpful. I also do run throughs using different characters so that doesn’t really work either.

Ok, in that case you should swap stash.sv between sessions.

I’ll have to figure out a good way to do that. On one pc I’m running it through Batacera, and another I’m on an Android tablet.

It’s too bad it can’t generate separate accounts for each character though.

Has there already been a discussion about not wanting to implement a personal stash or is this a planned feature?

In plugy for diablo 2 a shared stash file just like the one in DevilutionX is used and another one for each char. An additional file in the sv file could be used for that without braking compatibility.
In plugy is a button in the stash to toggle between the two and some configuration to enable /disable one or the other and which one should be opened first. We could also offer to different speech options for the barmaid
