Repopus v0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Oct 11:35

Choose which repositories to keep when you follow an account.

  • Pick repositories from an account. Pasting an account link (github.com/username) now opens
    a list of all its repositories. Switch on the ones you want to keep; the others are left out.
    A filter and Select all / Select none help with large accounts.
  • Change your choice any time. Press Choose… on an account's category, or
    Choose repositories… in Settings. Repositories you switch off are no longer tracked, but files
    already on your computer are kept.
  • New repositories, your call. Add new repositories automatically decides whether
    repositories the account creates later are added on their own. Accounts you already follow keep
    doing this, as before.
  • A repository link still adds just that one repository, straight away.
  • Repopus is now made by stean.ART. Your followed repositories and settings
    carry over automatically when you update.

The Windows installers still aren't signed: if SmartScreen asks, choose More info, then
Run anyway.

Repopus v0.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 15:40

The macOS version is now signed and notarised by Apple.

  • No more "Repopus is damaged" on macOS. The app is signed with a Developer ID and checked by
    Apple, so it opens like any other app downloaded from the internet. If you had trouble with 0.2.0
    or 0.1.0 on a Mac, please download this version.
  • Nothing else changes in the app itself.

Windows and Linux are the same as in 0.2.0. The Windows installers still aren't signed: if
SmartScreen asks, choose More info, then Run anyway.

System File
macOS, Apple Silicon (M1 and later) Repopus-macOS-Apple-Silicon.dmg
macOS, Intel Repopus-macOS-Intel.dmg
Windows 10/11 Repopus-Windows-Setup.exe or Repopus-Windows.msi
Linux Repopus-Linux.AppImage, Repopus-Linux.deb or Repopus-Linux.rpm

Repopus v0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 11:49

A small update to Repopus.

  • Installers now have fixed names (Repopus-macOS-Apple-Silicon.dmg, Repopus-Windows-Setup.exe,
    Repopus-Linux.deb…), so download links always lead to the latest version.
  • Clearer About text: Repopus keeps the GitHub projects you follow up to date on your computer.

The installers still aren't code-signed: on macOS, right-click the app and choose Open the first
time; on Windows, choose More info, then Run anyway if SmartScreen asks.

Repopus v0.1.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 11:18

The first release of Repopus 🐙

Repopus keeps local copies of the GitHub projects you follow (apps, libraries, themes, fonts,
datasets) and keeps them at their latest version. Paste a link to a creator or to a single
repository; Repopus checks GitHub every hour and downloads only what changed.

Highlights

  • Follow a creator or a single repository. Following a creator includes new repositories as
    they appear. Add /tree/<branch> to a repository link to follow a specific branch.
  • Checks before it downloads. Only repositories whose latest commit differs from your copy
    are downloaded. Checks that find nothing new cost (almost) nothing against GitHub's limits.
  • Never deletes what disappears. If a creator removes a project, it's marked as gone and your
    copy stays. Repopus only ever removes files it created itself.
  • Safe updates. Downloads are verified in a temporary folder before they replace anything.
  • Zip or folder, replace or keep versions. Keep one up-to-date copy, or every version side by
    side (optionally only the last N), per repository.
  • At a glance: one line per repository with a green, orange or red mark, live download
    progress, categories per creator, and Update all, globally or per creator.
  • Works in the background: automatic checks from the menu bar or system tray.
  • Private repositories: with a read-only token stored in your system's keychain, or your
    GitHub CLI login.
  • Light, dark grey or system appearance.

Downloads

System File
macOS, Apple Silicon (M1 and later) Repopus_0.1.0_aarch64.dmg
macOS, Intel Repopus_0.1.0_x64.dmg
Windows 10/11 …_x64-setup.exe (installer) or …_x64_en-US.msi
Linux .AppImage (any distribution), .deb (Debian, Ubuntu) or .rpm (Fedora, openSUSE)

Good to know

  • The installers aren't code-signed yet. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open
    the first time. On Windows, choose More info, then Run anyway if SmartScreen asks.
  • On Linux, the tray icon needs AppIndicator support. On GNOME, that's the "AppIndicator"
    extension.
  • Without a token, GitHub allows 60 requests an hour. That's fine for a handful of
    repositories; add a token in Settings for more.
