PowerPoint citations powered by Zotero.
CitePoint is an experimental Windows PowerPoint add-in that connects to a local Zotero Desktop library. It lets users search Zotero items, insert citations into slides, switch citation styles, and generate slide-level numeric references.

- Search Zotero items from PowerPoint.
- Select one or multiple sources in the picker.
- Filter by Zotero collections.
- Insert APA, Chicago author-date, or IEEE-style numeric citations.
- Refresh tracked citation groups after changing style.
- Generate a slide-level numeric reference box.
- Convert numeric citations such as
[1,2,3]to superscript with one button.
Download the latest release from GitHub and install both parts:
- Install the Zotero companion
.xpiin Zotero:Tools > Add-ons > gear icon > Install Add-on From File. - Restart Zotero.
- Install the PowerPoint
.ppamadd-in: close PowerPoint, then runinstall-ppam.ps1from the release folder. - Reopen PowerPoint.
- In PowerPoint, use the
Add-ins > CitePointtoolbar.
Zotero must be open while using CitePoint.
CitePoint is not an official Zotero or Microsoft product. It is a community prototype that uses Zotero locally on the same computer.
The project is currently focused on easy GitHub distribution for personal and small-community use. It is not published on Microsoft AppSource.
