The District AI apps without a District AI account: what would you use them with?

The District AI apps for iPhone and iPad, Android and Linux are open source under Apache-2.0. Today each of them needs a District AI account to sign in: everything the apps show, and every call they place or answer, goes through the District AI service, which is not open source.

We want the apps to work without an account with us too. We have not worked out what that looks like, or whether it can work, and the answer depends on what people would actually use them with. So we are asking before we build anything:

• Which app would you use, and on what?
• What would you connect it to? A server you run yourself, a service you already use, or something else.
• What for? The job you would give it, and who would use it.
• What would you need from us? Documentation, an interface to build against, changes in the apps, or something else.

Nothing is decided and nothing is promised. This thread is where we find out whether there is a version of this worth building, and what it would be. Replies in French are welcome.
