Note from the maintainers

The project is going into a "keep the lights on" maintenance mode for now.
That means the two current maintainers are still dedicated toward doing work that's vitally important for the project itself, but they can unfortunately not provide timely responses to most other issues or PRs - even though it might sporadically happen.
