Free, open firmware for the AD5X.
Kiln OS is a free replacement for the firmware that comes on the Flashforge Adventurer 5X (AD5X). It is open: anyone can read how it works, and its parts are built from open software such as Klipper, Moonraker, Fluidd and HelixScreen. It runs the printer from a web page (Fluidd) and from the touch screen, supports the four-colour IFS filament unit, and includes a recovery system that can bring the printer back if an update or start-up goes wrong. Kiln OS is not made by or endorsed by Flashforge. Installing it replaces the printer's firmware, so read the install page first and back up your files.
- Install: how to install Kiln OS on an AD5X, and how to go back to stock.
- Updates: how to update Kiln OS from the Fluidd update button.
- IFS-Filament-Unit: what the four-colour IFS does, and how to load, unload and swap filament.
- Troubleshooting: common problems and what to try first.
- Changelog-Highlights: the main changes in the last three releases.
- Hall-of-Bugs-ame: thank you to the people who report bugs.
Please report it on the GitHub Issues page: https://github.com/djvalic/kiln-os/issues
A good report says what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. If you can, add the log files from Fluidd (the Klipper log, and wifi.log for Wi-Fi problems). Do not post passwords or Wi-Fi keys in a report.
