ImportError: DLL load failed while importing cxrayutilities: The specified module could not be found.

Hello,
After upgrade to version 1.7.11 the program show an error after running a script: ImportError: DLL load failed while importing cxrayutilities: The specified module could not be found. I tried several times uninstall and install process. Where am I making a mistake? Bests, Zdeno (Windows 10 Pro 64-bit)

Can you provide more details about your installation method, python version and so on?

Python 3.13.5 | packaged by Anaconda, Inc. | (main, Jun 12 2025, 16:37:03) [MSC v.1929 64 bit (AMD64)]
pip uninstall xrayutilities
pip install xrayutilities==1.7.11
The previous version worked fine.

I now tried also on some windows computer with the xrayutilities package from PyPI and can reproduce your issue.

I will investigate it further and report back.

The windows wheel packages on pypi for version 1.7.11 are broken. Likely I will release a new version (1.7.12) shortly where working wheel packages will be included.

As of now one can use:

pip install xrayutilities==1.7.11.dev2025111305 --index-url https://pkgs.dev.azure.com/dominikkriegner/xrayutilities/_packaging/xrayutilities-dev/pypi/simple/ --extra-index-url https://pypi.org/simple/

to get a dev version where the problem is hopefully fixed.

Edit: The used command will not work anymore since I remove dev artifacts ones a new release is made. -> use 1.7.12 or higher from PyPI

version 1.7.12 is released which hopefully fixes this issue. a normal pip installation should again work
