On-Web Photo Editing and Dithering Preview for Picture Gallery

The picture gallery could include on-web photo editing options, such as zoom in/out and crop, to select a specific area of the image, allowing users to adjust the image before pushing it to the panel. It would also be nice to select a dithering mode with a preview of how it will look on the device.

Both features make sense, and they compose cleanly with the "push anything to the panel" flow you raised on Discord (crop first, preview the dithered result, adjust if needed). Tracked all three together as #45, since they share one editor + preview surface. No firm timeline yet, but the scope is written up and it's ready to pick up once the current threads settle. Subscribe there for a ping when it moves.

If any of the specifics feel off, shout back on either thread and I'll fold it in.

Honestly a lot of the pace right now is community-driven. @bablokb has been feeding real feedback and catching bugs while building his CircuitPython client, @docbobo just found the dither crash that shipped as v0.65.2 the same day, @flinkazoid is running the native firmware on their reTerminals and pushing schedule-widget ideas back, @vkawai kicked off the Inky-buttons idea. And you started this whole picture-gallery + dithering-preview thread, which is now tracked in #45. It's a lot more fun this way than trying to build everything in a vacuum.

Just a note regarding "preview": the history claims to link to the rendered image. That is not fully true. It is rendered to the panel size, but it seems no dithering is applied.

You caught me. once upon a time that was the plan for the preview but it got lost amongst everything else being built.
I'll scope it in along with this feature.
