Hmmmm that appears to have broken something... I get nothing in the preview and history shows the following message up instead of the events:

calendar_schedule: escapeAttr(...) is not a function

I wish I could schedule dashboards using a cron-style scheduler.

For example, I can not currently see any way of pushing a pair/trio/+ of alternating dashboards, i.e one dashboard for X minutes followed by second dashboard for X minutes on constant repeat.

Using cron-style scheduling, it would be possible to build and push any dashboard at any time, also allowing the interjecting of specials automatically as required.

Built this and shipped in v0.45.0 (and polished in v0.45.4). New "Rotations" entry in the top nav next to Schedules.

A rotation is an ordered list of dashboards with a dwell time each, looping on a daily wall-clock anchor. For your alternating dashboards case: name the rotation, set "Cycle starts at" (when step 0 fires each day), add dashboard A with dwell 30 min, add B with 30 min, save. Tesserae cycles A → B → A → B forever from the anchor each day. Add a "Cycle ends at" if you want the rotation to fall silent overnight (e.g. 09:00 → 17:00 for a workday rotation), or leave it blank to run until midnight.

For the "override at specific times" case: any existing daily schedule with a higher priority value preempts the rotation. So a 9am daily schedule pointing at, say, your morning standup dashboard with priority 10 fires at 9am even when the rotation is mid-step on something else. The eink panel shows whatever was pushed most recently, so the higher-priority schedule naturally wins.

I went with the rotation builder UI rather than cron strings because most people don't actually think in 0,30 * * * *. The rotation editor reads top-to-bottom: name, anchor, end time, steps, days of week. If you want full cron later, shout, it's a small follow-up.

Few small things worth knowing:

The daily anchor reseeds the cycle at midnight, so long cycles don't drift across DST flips.
Each step's preview shows which physical devices that step's dashboard is bound to, so you can sanity-check at a glance.
Disable + re-enable fires the current step immediately rather than waiting for the next transition.

It would be great if we could easily duplicate/make a copy of an existing dashboard. This would allow for fiddling about (technical term) without breaking existing dashboards.

Maybe a "copy dashboard" button that creates a copy with a default name of ' copy' ? Need to account for existing ' copy' and call it ' copy n'?

Good idea. This is something I was planning. Going to ship this now. Plan: Duplicate button on the dashboards list and in the page editor, clones the page (cells, theme, bindings) as copy, falling back to copy 2, copy 3 on collisions. Will update when it's out.
