CMake variables incorrectly set, commands do not work

CMake Error: The current CMakeCache.txt directory /home/wonton/Public/writeart/build/CMakeCache.txt is different than the directory /Users/daze/Documents/Workspace/EclipseProjectsC++/WriteArt/build where CMakeCache.txt was created. This may result in binaries being created in the wrong place. If you are not sure, reedit the CMakeCache.txt
CMake Error: The source "/home/wonton/Public/writeart/CMakeLists.txt" does not match the source "/Users/daze/Documents/Workspace/EclipseProjectsC++/WriteArt/CMakeLists.txt" used to generate cache. Re-run cmake with a different source directory.

Did this happen after following the steps from "More in depth" in https://github.com/dmonopoly/writeart/blob/0382f246e3dd6072dc803d02b8809a5e0666cf8f/README.md ?

happens when I do cmake ..

and you probably know this, but since c++ compiled programs are platform dependent the binary files generated will work on a very limited number of machines

But cmake is supposed to be cross platform (hence cross-platform make = cmake). =[
