Core Changes

  • Revert Default Transport: Changed the default transport protocol from streamable-http back to stdio for improved out-of-the-box compatibility with MCP clients.
  • Port Auto-Allocation: Implemented an automatic port discovery mechanism for streamable-http transport that attempts to bind to an available port (up to 10 retries) if the default port is occupied.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix EADDRINUSE Error: Resolved a fatal crash caused by port conflicts when port 3000 was already in use. (Closes #28)

Documentation and Miscellaneous

  • Transport Documentation: Added comprehensive guidance to the README regarding transport selection and troubleshooting.
  • Configuration Examples: Updated example configurations for both stdio and streamable-http transports.
  • Development Scripts: Added start:stdio to package.json for explicit transport testing.
  • Dependency Cleanup: Removed unused eslint-plugin-prettier dependency.
