Visual Editor disabled

Hi,

Problem summary
Since March 2026, the WordPress visual editor (Gutenberg) no longer works in the WordPress Docker image used by TrueNAS SCALE.

The symptoms: :

• The Gutenberg "+" button is unresponsive.
• The visual editor is greyed out with the message: "You can enable the visual editor in your profile settings."
• The code editor is forced.
• The "Enable the visual editor" option is missing from the user profile.
• The issue persists across multiple browsers and machines.

Environment

Platform :

• TrueNAS SCALE 25.04.2.6
• TrueNAS SCALE Catalog WordPress App

WordPress container:

• Application : v7.0.4
• Version : v1.4.12

Internal versions :

• PHP 8.3.33
• Apache 2.4.68 (Debian)
• Debian 13.6
• WordPress 7.0.4
• Thème : Blockstarter Version 1.1.8

What I have already checked

• Tested on multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
• Tested on multiple machines
• Tested in private browsing mode
• Tested without extensions
• Tested without Pi-hole
• Tested with different DNS settings
• Tested with the Twenty Sixteen theme (version 3.8)

I can't reproduce with a stock deployment via https://github.com/docker-library/docs/blob/d6156c2620358ad2ac41ba7a7f6be4c7f975b079/wordpress/compose.yaml, so this must be something environmental.
