Metrics server not working on 4.7.0 #6274

  • I have tried with the latest version of Docker Desktop
  • I have tried disabling enabled experimental features
  • I have uploaded Diagnostics
  • Diagnostics ID:

Expected behavior

Metrics server running

Actual behavior

Metrics server cannot start and logs the following error:

Metrics server works correctly on 4.6.1 and on 4.7.0 preview (76176)

  • macOS Version: 12.3.1
  • Intel chip or Apple chip: M1 Pro
  • Docker Desktop Version: 4.7.0 (77141)

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Install Docker Desktop 4.7.0
  2. Install metrics server kubectl apply -f https://github.com/kubernetes-sigs/metrics-server/releases/latest/download/components.yaml
  3. Add "--kubelet-insecure-tls" under the args section of metrics server deployment
