How to create custom page type

Hi all,
I need some pages in my website not to have Docsy's template layouts. But every time I try I get pages that are broken: scrolling won't work and the top of the page is missing. To work around this I have used only type: docs or type: blog.
However, I don't understand why I cannot create a custom type. All I need is for some pictures to display full screen in a new tab, without the header, toc, etc.
I created a third directory in the content directory for simple html pages that would display my pictures. Therefore, I have:

• content/docs (all pages have type: docs)
• content/blog (all pages have type: blog)
• content/fullscreen (all pages should have custom type)
  And I created a basic:
• layouts/fullscreen/single.html

But Hugo won't build the pages in content/fullscreen/
Can someone help? Thank you so much.

It's been a while since I've done something similar, so I might be wrong, but:

• try adding a list.html as well (just copy the single.html under layouts/fullscreen)
• set the type for the content/fullscreen files, either in the frontmatter, or as a cascade in the config (https://gohugo.io/configuration/cascade/)

You are nearly there. You need a baseof.html in layouts/fullscreen/ as a starting point. This defines the header, nav bar, footer, sidebar, toc amongst other things. Take the baseof.html from https://github.com/google/docsy/blob/main/layouts/docs/baseof.html and adapt as you need to. Then ensure any pages you want to use the fullscreen template have this defined in the frontmatter: type: "fullscreen"

To make this custom type fill the screen, i.e. no sidebar/toc, you can remove the calls to sidebar.html, page-meta-links.html and toc.html in your layouts/fullscreen/baseof.html file.
