The following is a set of initial user stories. These stories are the starting point for creating Issues detailing actionable tasks for development.

User Types

User Type Description
User Any user, authenticated or not
Authenticated User A user who has authorized the app with their GitHub account and has unrestricted functionality available
Developer The application developer
As a developer, I want documentation defining development standards, so I can build a consistent and bug free app
As a developer, I want to learn about the project tech stack, so I can anticipate issues with the application
As a developer, I want an initial tech stack set up, so I can begin development
As a developer, I want to create top level application UI, so I can add new components as the design dictates
As a developer, I want to gather data on tags people apply to public repos, so I can better understand how users use the app
As a user, I want a familiar and intuitive interface, so I can easily understand how to use the app
As a user, I want a simple on-boarding tutorial, so I can learn the apps primary functions quickly
As a user, I want a logo, so I can recognize the application at a glance
As a user, I want app wide settings to be accessible, so I can explore options the app gives me
As a user, I want my settings to persist, so that my settings persist between sessions
As a user, I want a list of starred repos in an account, so I can browse my repos
As a user, I want to view additional information on the repo panel, so I can be better informed without having to go to GitHub
As a user, I want to filter repos using multiple search terms
As a user, I want to use tags as reusable search terms
As a user, I want to add specific tags to repos, so I can find them later when I need them
As a user, I want to visual indicators on tags, so I can identify them quickly
As a user, I want to filter my tag list by search term, so I can find them quickly
As a user, I want feedback on how many repos use specific tags, so I can see how useful a tag is
As a user, I want the app to suggest useful tags, to speed up the tagging process
As a user, I want to copy tags from one repo to another
As an authenticated user, I want to include private repos in my search results
As an authenticated user, I want to select what permissions I want to give, so I can limit access to my account
As an authenticated user, I want to quickly un-star repos, so I can remove repos I am no longer interested in
As an authenticated user, I want to sync my settings with another instance of the app, so I can keep my settings across multiple computers
As a user, I want to change the layout of my search results, so I can optimize how I scan through search results
As a user, I want to change the sorting order of search results, so I can sort results according to my needs
As a user, I want to learn more about the developer and the project
As a user, I want to provide feedback to the developer
As a user, I want feedback on my repo tag maintenance, so I can better configure tags to work with my repos
As a user, I want the app to integrate with GitHub's existing UI, so I can manage my stars without changing context
