Summary

Migrate the project license from MIT to Apache License 2.0.

Motivation

• Apache-2.0 includes an explicit patent grant, providing better legal protection for contributors and users
• It is the industry standard for orchestration tools (Prefect, Airflow, Luigi all use Apache-2.0)
• Increases trust for enterprise adoption
• Requires contributors to document changes, improving project governance

Changes required

• Replace LICENSE file with Apache License 2.0 text
• Update license reference in pyproject.toml
• Update any other references to MIT in the codebase
