I just watched the January 6th standup (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN63HJBVqfQ) and it seems that it is time to change from vNext to 5. The top description says ASP.NET 5 now as well.

Indeed, this needs to be changed! Can you check out the contribution guidelines and fill out a CLA? It's currently required for all changes (though we plan to relax this requirement for wiki/text changes). https://github.com/aspnet/Home/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md
