Is System.Reflection.Emit compatible with .NET Standard 2.0?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the System.Reflection.Emit package probably shouldn't be used with .NET Standard 2.0. Is this correct? The issue I have is that users would like us (IronPython) to target netstandard2.0 and since it compiles fine when we reference the package they assume that this is correct. If this scenario is not supported then I'd rather not mislead them. If these should not be used together are there any plans to prevent the package from being referenced from a netstandard2.0 project?

As far as I can tell, AOT platforms like UWP or some variants of Xamarin indeed do not support System.Reflection.Emit.

Though that does not necessarily mean you shouldn't use it at all in a .Net Standard 2.0 project. You can either ignore those issues (assuming those platforms are not important for you) or you can detect whether SRE is supported on the current platform at runtime, and choose whether to use it according to that.

@svick for xamarin.ios and mono.wasm, because of the reintroduced interpreter, .Emit is in progress
