First Run Setup
Relaywright shows the first-run setup page when no administrator account exists and no bootstrap admin was configured during install.
Open the admin UI, usually:
https://localhost:5443
Create the first administrator account. This account is required before the web interface, relay settings, and diagnostics can be used.
Use a strong password and store it in your normal infrastructure credential system.
During first-run setup, Relaywright can configure a managed HTTPS certificate for the admin web interface.
Options:
- generate a self-signed certificate for lab and test machines;
- upload a
.pfxor.p12certificate bundle; - upload PEM certificate and private key files;
- skip certificate setup and keep the current deployment certificate.
Certificate changes are picked up after the service restarts.
The dashboard keeps a production-readiness checklist visible after setup. Each item links directly to the relevant page and completes from recorded configuration or successful operational evidence rather than a dismissible acknowledgement.
- Review Admin HTTPS And Certificates and keep the managed HTTP listener disabled unless it is deliberately required.
- Configure Upstream SMTP.
- Add at least one non-loopback Trusted Network for a real submitting device.
- Review and save the global Submission Policy.
- Run a successful upstream connectivity check in Diagnostics.
- Send a successful diagnostic test email.
- Create and validate a Backup, or confirm the external database backup responsibility shown for SQL Server/MySQL.
- Optionally configure alert email recipients under Alerts.
Connectivity and test-email evidence is considered current only when it was recorded after the latest relay configuration save. Rerun both checks after changing the upstream relay.
