Description

macOS 26 has new specifications for APP icons. DC's current icon do not meet the specifications, so it look ugly on macOS 26.

we need an Icon that works across all macOS versions.

  1. the original DC icon has a transparent background and has protrusions on both sides relative to the main background.

  1. it looked nice before macOS 26

  1. on macOS 26, it was very ugly. because of the protrusions, it does not meet the icon specifications of macOS 26, the system will automatically shrink the icon and put it on a thick gray background.
Image

  1. to ensure an acceptable appearance across all macOS versions, I will first replace doublecmd.icns with doublecmd.png. it is a screenshot of the original icon.
Image

the square icon will be automatically converted by the system and displayed with rounded corners. the rounded corners are smaller before macOS 26.

Image

the rounded corners are larger on macOS 26.

Image

it's a workaround because i'm unfamiliar with icon design.

it would be great if someone could design a specific icon for macOS.

Vector, and the main background fills the entire canvas, and no transparent areas.
