TEASER+ - An extension to TEASER tool with input and output functionalities for CityGML and Energy ADE

The TEASER+ extension is developed by members of the "Institute of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building (e3D), RWTH Aachen University" using Python 3.5+. This extension is based on the "Tool for Energy Analysis and Simulation for Efficient Retrofit (TEASER)" and can be used to import and export CiyGML data sets with or without Energy ADE version 1.0. The TEASER+ extension aims to help the simulation scientists to facilitate energy performance simulations using CityGML models. This GitHub page will be used to further develop the extension.

If you have any questions regarding TEASER+ feel free to contact us at: shamovich@e3d.rwth-aachen.de or cityatb@e3d.rwth-aachen.de

Description

Emerging technologies, computational algorithms and simulation environments enable users, facility managers and occupants to achieve a good estimation of the energy demands of their buildings, districts and cities. This is a huge step forward towards the realization of the 7th United Nations Sustainable Goal of ensuring an affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for the population of our planet. The availability of 3D building models has been increasing in the last few years. As CityGML datasets are now available for some cities and municipalities, energy analysis using CityGML data is advantageous for the UBEM community. Since CityGML data is mainly geometric, an inclusion of the open Energy Application Domain Extension (ADE) facilitates an exchange and disseminination of energy specific data of the considered urban area. Therefore, the TEASER+ extension enhances the existing feature set and abilities of the TEASER tool, and allows integrating 3D city models with energy specific data for urban building performance simulations.

Version

The TEASER+ is currently being developed and is based on the TEASER version 0.7.6.

Dependencies

TEASER+ is currently being developed using Python 3.5+ and PySide2. Beside the basic dependencies from the TEASER tool, TEASER+ uses BuildingsPy version 2.0.0 to automate the simulation process. The current developments of TEASER+ use lxml for importing and exporting CityGML datasets with or without the Energy ADE.

Installation

The TEASER+ can be used by cloning or downloading the whole TEASER+ package from the GIT Repository. In future, the user can to run the "main.py" for loading the GUI.
