Seesaw 0.5.2 — Smart slice

Choose a tag to compare

@eabdiel eabdiel released this 09 Oct 14:11
901aef5

Smart slice enables native resin supports, tries bounded orientations, and adopts a result only after complete PM4N readback and issue validation. It preserves exposure, layer height and scale. The original ctrlV challenge passed at 0.05 mm with a 5° tilt: 449 layers, zero remaining issues and four exact isolated pixel removals. Undo and per-attempt diagnostics are included.

172 tests/Ruff/CI and actual desktop/native, persistence, stale/cancelled gates, package imports/render and offline source/payload alignment passed. Engines remain bundled; no new external installation or model. Ubuntu 26.04 amd64. The bounded search may fail for other geometry; physical printer/material qualification remains pending. See HANDOFF.md and MANIFEST.json for scope and evidence limits.

Seesaw 0.5.1 — Auto exposure and resin test diagnostics

Seesaw0.5.1

Restart Seesaw to use the update. Each exposure field has an Auto button; select the exact matching material, or save your calibrated values as a local profile. Effective seconds appear below the controls. Type a positive value for manual override. Auto choices survive save/reopen and require a matching layer height.

Water-Wash Resin+ and Water-Wash Resin2.0 Mono4 manufacturer reference profiles are included separately; choose the label that matches your bottle. The ambiguous legacy clear-water-washable profile remains unset. These are starting points, not physical qualification.

The original ctrlV sample reported a286,704pixel island on UI layer177, with supports off. A supports-enabled retry still reported islands, so export remains blocked. Exposure changes do not fix unsupported geometry. New error text identifies the layer and opens it directly.

Load resin test supplies a small solid L-shaped test for the resin workflow; Load FDM test retains the original unmodified ctrlV challenge. The new fixture passed80layers/fullPM4Nsettings and exactpixels. It is not an exposure calibration matrix.

162tests/Ruff/CI, actual desktop controls, persistence/stale gates, package source/hash alignment and offline profile resolution passed. Native engine payload is unchanged from0.5.0. Ubuntu26amd64 X11/XWayland; physical printer/material acceptance remains pending.

Seesaw 0.5.0 — single installer and native hollow/drain

Choose a tag to compare

@eabdiel eabdiel released this 09 Oct 03:48
708d9d1

Seesaw 0.5.0 adds a native hollow-and-drain workflow and a single Ubuntu 26.04 amd64 installer.

Install the .deb with your Ubuntu package manager. Python, PrusaSlicer 2.9.4, UVTools core 7.0.1 and its .NET runtime are bundled. Ordinary slicing needs no separate tool installation, account, cloud service or startup download; apt resolves normal system libraries.

Use Hollow and drain… to set wall thickness and drain holes in the original STL coordinates. Holes follow rotation, placement, scale and copies. Undo and project save/reopen retain the settings. Native cavity checks, full PM4N readback and stale-result rejection gate export.

Validation includes 159 automated tests, desktop interaction, bundled-engine operation with external tools hidden and network disabled, exact 50-layer PM4N pixel/settings readback, and rejection of a trapped-cavity fixture. These are software checks. Physical printer, firmware, exposure and drainage qualification remain pending. Native Wayland and Ubuntu 24.04 are not qualified for this package.

The corresponding-source archive, notices and checksum manifest accompany the installer. Optional reconstruction models and external agent integrations retain separate optional setup.

Seesaw 0.4.0 — Offline Ubuntu slicer + experimental local image-to-3D

Choose a tag to compare

@eabdiel eabdiel released this 03 Oct 14:53

ProgreTech Seesaw is open-source offline 3D printing software for Linux/Ubuntu, built by ProgreTech.

This release adds Experimental → Image to 3D / OpenClaw + Tailscale:

  • Local image-to-3D reconstruction using a separately downloaded, hash-verified trellis.cpp CUDA runtime and Q4 weights. Preview, recast with a new seed, optionally repair and import the STL into the slicer.
  • CPU image relief when CUDA is unavailable. This is a height-map workflow, not full object reconstruction.
  • Private OpenClaw prompt intake for a configured local LLM/agent, image input, follow-up corrections and new conversations. Gateway credentials are not saved.
  • Model-specific setup guidance and an optional runtime/weights download. Ordinary offline slicing needs none of these AI dependencies.

Ubuntu installation: download progretech-seesaw_0.4.0_amd64.deb, install it, and launch ProgreTech Seesaw from the application launcher. Existing installations can use Check for updates. Native PrusaSlicer 2.9.4 and UVTools 7.0.1 remain separate slicing dependencies. Model weights are not included in the .deb.

Validation: 132 tests and Linux CI passed; installed Qt/VTK relief preview/import and CLI passed; all 34 packaged source/assets files matched the reviewed source. Multiple actual RTX 5060 Ti trials produced closed 3D meshes after repair, including a named Imagen agent tool run with verified durable memory. The configured vision agent also completed image intake and its memory checkpoint.

Experimental limits: automatic remote mesh transfer and automatic prompt-to-revised-image generation are not implemented. TRELLIS consumes the selected image; text follow-ups go to OpenClaw. The tested GPU has 16 GB VRAM; other hardware is unqualified. Mesh repair can change fine details. Neither generated geometry nor software-validated printer output is a physical-print qualification.

See the generation guide, source and technical specification, and ProgreTech.

Seesaw 0.3.1 — layer findings and verified pixel repair

Choose a tag to compare

@eabdiel eabdiel released this 03 Oct 14:24

Seesaw 0.3.1 adds inspection of failed layer findings and an opt-in removal of isolated single pixels. Every removal must match a reported one-pixel island; all other source pixels must remain unchanged, followed by full PM4N readback validation. The option defaults off and is saved in project version 3.

Validation: 118 tests; native full-size bundled sample with supports, 35° tilt and 0.15 mm layers passed 285-layer readback after exactly four isolated pixels were removed. Installed Ubuntu application preview/export and package/source parity passed. Exposure values used in software tests are synthetic and are not resin calibration recommendations. Firmware and physical printing remain unqualified.

Install the amd64 .deb on Ubuntu. Existing native PrusaSlicer/UVTools dependencies are required. Experimental image generation remains separate development work and is not part of this release.

Seesaw 0.3.0 — Printer and material workspace

@eabdiel eabdiel released this 03 Oct 13:47

ProgreTech Seesaw 0.3.0

Offline Ubuntu workspace with Mono4 resin and MK3S/MK3S+ filament selection, compatible material profiles, independently placed/rotated/scaled copies, native supports, sliced-layer preview and checksum-verified PM4N/G-code export. Includes the owner-selected unchanged ctrlV test model with its separate CC BY-ND license. Improved surface shading, Focus model and mesh-edge view; manual GitHub update checking remains available.

Requires separately installed PrusaSlicer 2.9.4; resin additionally requires UVTools core 7.0.1. No accounts, cloud slicing or model downloads. Exposure settings remain unset; use your own calibrated material values.

Validation: 114 tests, ruff, GitHub CI (Python 3.12/3.14), offline native resin support/copy workflows and installed filament support/preview/export. Package source parity verified. Tested Ubuntu 26.04.1 X11/XWayland, not native Wayland or Ubuntu 24.04 desktop. No firmware or physical-print qualification.

The full-size bundled test is a demanding filament-oriented model. Resin trials found unsupported islands, including four isolated single pixels after tilting/supports. This release correctly blocks those exports; it does not silently waive findings. Smaller supported resin fixtures pass. Layer finding inspection/controlled repair is the next requirement.

0.2.0 — Offline Mono 4 desktop calibration workflow

Choose a tag to compare

@eabdiel eabdiel released this 03 Oct 03:20

Seesaw now connects the Ubuntu desktop to the offline Mono 4 calibration workflow: save/reopen projects, rotate/scale with undo, enter explicit resin settings, generate supports, slice, inspect decoded layers and export a checksum-verified PM4N candidate.

The installer includes the Python/Qt/VTK runtime and launcher. PrusaSlicer 2.9.4 and UVTools core 7.0.1 remain separate prerequisites. “Check for updates” reads published GitHub releases only when requested; updates and active jobs are mutually exclusive.

Validation: 87 core tests; Python 3.12/3.14 CI; real Ubuntu 26.04.1 desktop workflows with networking disabled, including 24-layer solid and 104-layer supported fixtures, exact pixel readback, project reopen, preview and export. Cancellation and a detected island correctly prevent publication. The installed runtime also passed the offline workflow.

Limits: one closed STL, automatic centering, 512 layers and conservative memory admission. Translation, copies, automatic orientation, hollowing/drain editing, other printers, Ubuntu 24.04 packaging and native Wayland remain unqualified or pending. Firmware and Anycubic clear water-washable resin settings require physical calibration. Test-fixture exposure numbers are not resin recommendations.

See docs/DESKTOP_WORKFLOW.md and docs/INSTALLATION.md in the source. Select the amd64 .deb for Ubuntu installation; SHA256SUMS covers the release assets.

Seesaw 0.1.1 — offline backend validation preview

Choose a tag to compare

@eabdiel eabdiel released this 02 Oct 23:40

ProgreTech Seesaw 0.1.1 — offline backend validation preview

Install the Ubuntu amd64 .deb, or use Check for updates in 0.1.0. The desktop remains a read-only STL foundation preview; its printer-export button is still disabled.

Adds a guarded research CLI (progretech-seesaw-cli) using installed PrusaSlicer 2.9.4 and UVTools core 7.0.1. The actual pipeline passed network-disabled testing on Ubuntu 26.04.1: solid and supported fixtures, a 104-layer supported PM4N, all-layer pixel readback, exposure/Z/motion verification and selected UVTools issue checks. The native backends are separate packages, not bundled in this installer.

The candidate files are NOT firmware- or resin-qualified print files. Automatic orientation, editable supports/drain holes, hollowing and the integrated desktop slicing workflow remain unfinished. Antialiasing is opt-in; an antialiased fixture was rejected for a one-pixel island rather than silently accepted.

Also reviews the owner-supplied Encrust profile catalogue. It contains Mono 4K, not Mono 4/PM4N, at the reviewed revision; generic water-washable settings remain unverified.

Validation: 41 unit tests, lint, GitHub CI on Python 3.12 and 3.14, actual native-backend offline integration. See docs/BACKEND_VALIDATION.md and docs/INSTALLATION.md in the source at this tag.
