Community extension: map Pi onto the official DeepSeek Harness minimal surface so DeepSeek V4 Pro sees the same prompt + two-tool catalog as the model-card eval.

Not affiliated with DeepSeek or Pi.

Why

V4 Pro overfits the first-request surface. Official minimal is:

• system prompt = You are a helpful software engineer assistant.
• tools = persistent bash + str_replace_editor (official schemas)

On that surface the first thinking line is typically We need… / I need…. On Pi's default richer catalog it often falls into Let me….

This is permanent official minimal (the HF eval setup), not the two-phase “anchor then promote to Standard” preset.

Install

pi install npm:pi-dsh-minimal

/reload or restart Pi. New session, select DeepSeek V4 Pro. Default trigger is V4 Pro only (deepseek-v4-flash does not match). Settings: /dsh (same idea as /codex in pi-codex-conversion).
