System Prompt in Session

Is there a specific reason that the system prompt is not added to the session jsonl document? I'm starting to learn about session observability and see that without all of the details in a session, it is hard to understand the true nature of the session between the LLM and the local harness.

Is there a way to have it added to each session by extension? Or would this be a core change?
