Final release of the Re3gistry software managed by the JRC

Dear Re3gistry community,

We are pleased to announce the release v2026.1, corresponding to version 2.6.3 of the Re3gistry software, which will be the last release managed by the JRC.

This version includes the several library upgrades, as detailed in the changelog.

With this release, the maintenance cycle of the Re3gistry software managed by the JRC reaches its conclusion. In other words, future maintenance of the software should be managed by its underlying open source community.

In order to support the future of the software, the JRC is exploring its submission as an Interoperable Europe Solution in the Interoperable Europe Portal.

This repository will remain available for reference and documentation purposes, and helpdesk limited support will be ensured until the end of 2026.

We would like to thank all members of the INSPIRE community who have contributed over the years by reporting issues, proposing improvements and supporting the evolution of the Re3gistry by contributing to the helpdesk. The feedback and collaboration received through this repository have been essential for maintaining and improving this open source application.

Thank you for your collaboration and support throughout the lifecycle of the Re3gistry software.
