Sirius Desktop 7.5.0 is now available.

This version will be part of Eclipse 2026-03.

This release various dependency updates and removes older, unmaintained features. In particular:

• Eclipse 2025-09 is now the minimum version required
• Switched to AQL 8.1 (part of Acceleo 4.2)
• Dropped support for OCL (ocl:) and MTL ([.../]) expressions.
• Dropped support for EEF 1.5 properties views integration (EEF 2.x is still supported).

I am currently trying to follow Sirius tutorials as I am new to modeling. However, I noticed that the "Samples" seem to be missing in version 7.5.

Is this expected? If so, do you know if they will be added in a future update and when?

Are you using the correct URL, i.e. https://download.eclipse.org/sirius/updates/releases/7.5.0/2025-09 and not https://download.eclipse.org/sirius/updates/releases/7.5.0 (notice the missing 2025-09)?

Okay, thanks for your response. I can confirm that I am using the correct url.
Here is the error that appears after downloading from the help > "Install New Software..." and "Eclipse Marketplace..." :

Perhaps I'm missing some dependencies?

What version of Eclipse are you using? I just tried on a plain Eclipse IDE for Eclipse Committers 2026-03 and can not reproduce the errors.

1. Unzip an start a fresh Eclipse IDE for Eclipse Committers 2026-03
2. Help > Install new software...
3. Work with: https://download.eclipse.org/sirius/updates/releases/7.5.0/2025-09
4. Check "Sirius Samples", Next
5. All the required dependencies are found, and their installation proceeds without any error.

I am using the last version on the AUR:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/eclipse-platform

Have you tried to click on "next"? because I believe that the error will appear after this.

For the moment, I am using Obeo Designer Community with sirius 7.4.5.

Yes, as mentioned in steps 4 & 5: "All the required dependencies are found, and their installation proceeds without any error."

I also tried with the "raw" Eclipse SDK (not the Commiters package) linked in the AUR page (https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/eclipse/downloads/drops4/R-4.39-202602260420/eclipse-platform-4.39-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz&r=1), and still, everything works for me: the "Samples" feature is found, all its dependencies are resolved, everything installs without error, and on restart everything looks fine and the wizards are available:

Looking at the associated script, it looks like the AUR installs Eclipse in /usr/lib/, which is not writable by a non-root user. That may be the root cause of the problem, and the error message may be misleading.

Can you try and install another feature known to be working, e.g. "EMF - Eclipse Modeling Framework SDK" (in the "2026-03 - https://download.eclipse.org/releases/2026-03" update site, "Modeling" category) and see if you get the same error?

I have installed eclipse with YAY and it was effectively located in /usr/lib.
With this version, I succeed to install "Modeling" category from "https://download.eclipse.org/releases/2026-03".

I just tried as you with the raw Eclipse "https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/eclipse/downloads/drops4/R-4.39-202602260420/eclipse-platform-4.39-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz&r=1" and It works fine now.

However, I still don’t understand why it was giving me an error with yay.
But this solution works for me. Thank you very much for your help.
