Dropbox + Obsidian — Access your Obsidian vault from anywhere, no sync required.
DropSidian is a web-based Obsidian client that connects directly to your Dropbox-stored vault. It's a lightweight, frontend-only application — no servers, no backend, just your browser and your notes.
You love Obsidian. Your vault lives in Dropbox for backup and sync. But what happens when:
- 📱 You're on a device without Obsidian installed?
- 💻 You're using a work computer where you can't install apps?
- 💡 You have a quick idea and need to capture it now?
You end up emailing yourself, using a random notes app, or just... forgetting.
DropSidian gives you instant access to your Obsidian vault from any browser:
- ✅ Read your notes — Browse and view your markdown files with proper rendering
- ✅ Quick capture — Create new notes directly into your Inbox folder
- ✅ Edit on the go — Make changes that sync back to your vault
- ✅ Two view modes — Switch between Inbox (for quick capture) and Vault (for browsing)
- ✅ Manage notes — Delete, rename, and organize your notes
- ✅ Attach files — Upload images and PDFs or paste images from clipboard
- ✅ Obsidian-compatible — Wikilinks (
[[Note]]) and embeds (![[image.png]]) work as expected
