Why not remove the cygwin compile guide from eggdrop doc and put a link to the windrop project instead? They have a good small compile guide similar to what is documented inside eggdrop doc. I tried it, and it worked out of the box without any issue. BTW: Eggdrop compiles quite nicely under cygwin.

If you tried it and if it's not that different from what's already there, it'd be better to update it in the doc than to rely on an online guide that could disappear. The doc is available offline within the package.
