Release Summary: eStarlight J/ψ Dataset for ePIC TCS Studies
This repository provides Monte Carlo simulation input configurations for J/ψ production studies using the eStarlight
generator, designed to support Timelike Compton Scattering (TCS) research with the ePIC detector.
Key Features:
- Input cards for J/ψ production at 18×275 GeV electron-proton collisions
- Two decay channels: e⁺e⁻ (PID 443) and μ⁺μ⁻ (PID 443013)
- 1M events per configuration
- Kinematics matched to existing TCS files for background physics and muon ID studies
- HepMC3 ASCII output format with afterburning and conversion workflow
Configuration Details:
- Beam energies: 18 GeV electrons × 275 GeV protons
- Production mode: Coherent vector meson (PROD_MODE = 12)
- Quantum Glauber calculation enabled
- No pT cuts applied
- Breakup mode 5 (no nuclear breakup requirement)
Data Processing Workflow:
Generated files require afterburning and conversion to HepMC3 ROOT format using the eic-shell/eic software stack. Processed
datasets are available at /gpfs/mnt/gpfs02/eic/gpenman/ in JPsi_18x275/ and JPsi_muon_18x275/ directories.
