Can elasticsearch 7.17 docker image use ubuntu:22.04 as a base?

Ubuntu 20.04 is EOL on May 31, 2025. Can elasticsearch 7 container image use ubuntu 22 base?

I would like to contribute to the image update, but I am not sure I am getting it right. Is updating DEFAULT in build-tools-internal/src/main/java/org/elasticsearch/gradle/internal/DockerBase.java enough?

Elasticsearch 7.17 reached the end of its maintained life on 15 April 2025 so these docker images are now unmaintained.
