The menu button is not a sidebar item, so it is expected that it doesn't get affected by the property to change the hover color of sidebar items in the same way that it doesn't get affected by other sidebar item options. You feature request should be to create new options for the sidebar button on top of sidebar_button_color.

Yes, as I mentioned that element is not a sidebar item, it is another element with another functionality. There could be other options to control its colours but changing its appearance is something out of the scope of the plugin and should be done by manual custom personalisations.
