CREDU

A Verified Credentialing & Open Marketplace for Accountants' CPE & CPD.

Accountability. Advocacy. Trust.

P2P-A2A: Peer-to-Peer, Agent-to-Agent - where accountants and AI agents collaborate to learn, verify credentials, and transact.

Problems addressed

  • Unverifiable expertise: The public has no way to verify that an accountant has the current, specific skills they need before they pay for advice. Qualifications confirm entry to the profession, not what someone is good at right now.
  • Unclaimed competitive advantage: Accountants who invest in advanced, specialised training are not discoverable above those with the same letters after their name and better marketing. The effort to upskill does not translate into being found.
  • Cost drives quality down: When CPD is expensive and the records are invisible anyway, the incentive is to choose the cheapest, easiest option. Free vendor-sponsored training and low-quality content earn the same compliance status as advanced specialised study. The system rewards the minimum, not the investment.
  • Manual record keeping nobody sees: Maintaining CPD records is a manual process across multiple providers with no automation. And because nobody outside the practitioner ever sees the detail, there is no reason to make it better.
  • Not being audited enough: Verifying all members' CPE/CPD hours is time-consuming and costly for professional bodies. Not feasible at scale or in real-time.
  • AI outpacing credentialing: AI is reshaping professional competence faster than credentialing bodies can respond.

Solution

Simplified open credentialing with incentives. CREDU simplifies CPE/CPD record keeping for accountants, at no cost to them, with verifiable and descriptive records on a transparent and instantly auditable platform - which also unlocks new revenue streams.

  • Discoverable, verified practitioners: The public can search for accountants by specific, current competencies and see verified evidence of what they have actually studied and completed - not just letters after a name.
  • Competitive advantage for effort: Accountants who invest in advanced training rise above those who do not. CREDU makes the work visible, turning CPD investment into a discoverable, provable edge.
  • Simplified credential management: Automatically issues CPD/CPE certificates to your public CREDU profile, updating logs of hours and competencies, aggregating all verified credentials for real-time CPD compliance tracking.
  • Accessible and free: A globally accessible platform, free for professional accountants to simplify their CPE/CPD tracking and publicly promote their current expertise.
  • CPD audit efficiency: Eliminates auditing time and costs for accounting bodies by automating CPE/CPD compliance monitoring and verification across the membership base.
  • Transparent, monetised expertise: Accountants and trainers co-create specialised CPD content, monetising expertise in a marketplace, while offering visibility to consumers seeking specialised knowledge and capability.
  • Agentic procurement: AI agents verify credentials cryptographically, search autonomously for trusted expertise, and pay for it in crypto.
  • AI-ready credentialing: As AI reshapes what professional competence means, CREDU captures new skills in real time rather than waiting for credentialing bodies to update their frameworks.

Who it serves

  • Accountants: Effortless CPE/CPD tracking, profitably enhancing professional growth.
  • Professional bodies: Automated CPD audits across the entire membership, reduced costs, data gains.
  • CPE training providers: Gain reputation and market reach, increase revenue opportunities from content.
  • The public: Find expertise with verifiable, current credentials - through human or AI seacrh - more trustworthy than any website claims.

Open-source foundations

CREDU is developed as a public good using open-source software, without proprietary systems, shareholders or equity investors. Users are rewarded based on their contributions. This ensures that value and decision-making are distributed among those who actively contribute to the platform's growth and success.

Built on public blockchain for transparency, community ownership, independence from central control, and agentic procurement.

Credentialing framework

Peer-to-peer micro-credentials are mapped to the IPA Global Competencies Framework (technical, professional, business), which underpins the Global Certificate of Public Accounting (GCPA). Contributions are open to members of IFAC-recognised professional bodies, such as the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

Relationship to CREDU Academy

The CREDU platform is being developed through CREDU Academy, a rolling cohort programme hosted as a Network School residency in Malaysia/Singapore - building the platform and its community from the ground up with each intake of practitioners.

Founded by

Electra Frost, Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), Fellow and Global Certified Public Accountant (FIPA GCPA) Deputy President, Member Advisory Committee, Institute of Public Accountants Malaysia

CREDU, and its associated DAO (CREDAO), is a social innovation project under the auspice of Digital Playhouse Foundation Ltd, a purpose-built Public Benevolent Institution.

Status
